ධවල මන්දිරය (White House) යනු ඇමරිකානු ජනාධිපතිගේ නිල නිවසයි. මෙය මිහිපිට ඇති ඉතා සුක්ෂම, ආරක්ෂාකාරීම ගොඩනැගිලි අතරින් එකක් ලෙස නම් කළ හැකියි. මෙම චිත්රපටයෙන් ඔබට එම ආරක්ෂාව කෙතරම් දුරට ප්රබලද යනව වග ගැන නිගමනයකට එලඹිය හැකියි. මොකද මෙම චිත්රපටයේ කතාවට මුල් වී ඇත්තේ ධවල මන්දිරයට එල්ල වන දරුණු හා ප්රබල ත්රස්ත ප්රහාරයක්. මෙහි කතාව කෙටියෙන් ගෙනහැර දක්වන්නම්.
චිත්රපටය ආරම්භ වන්නේ අයහපත් කාලගුණය ඇති දිනක ජනාධිපති සංචාරයක යෙදෙන දර්ශනයකින්. මෙහිදී රිය අනතුරක් සිදුවී ජනාධිපතිගේ බිරිඳ මිය යනවා. ජනාධිපතිගේ පුද්ගලික ආරක්ෂක මයික් හට එම අනතුර වූ මොහොතේ බේරාගත හැකි වන්නේ ජනාධිපතිවරයා පමණයි. මේ නිසා මයික් සිත් තැවුලෙන් සිටින අතර තම රාජකාරී කටයුතු සිදු කරගෙන යනවා.
දිනක් කොරියානු අගමැති ඇතුලු පිරිසක් ජනාධිපති සමඟ සාකච්ඡාවක් සඳහා ධවල මන්දිරයට පැමිණෙනවා. මෙදින හදිසියේම ආයුධ සන්නද්ධ දැවැන්ත ගුවන් යානයකින් නොනවත්වා ධවල මන්දිරයට ප්රහාර එල්ල කරනවා. මේ අතර ජනාධිපති, කොරියානු අගමැති සහ අනෙකුත් සගයින් සමඟ ආරක්ෂිත බංකරයක සැඟවෙනවා. මේ අතර තවත් ආයුධ සන්නද්ධ පිරිසක් ධවල මන්දිරයට කඩා පනිනවා. කෙසේ හෝ දැන් ජනාධිපතිතුමාගේ සහ අනෙකුත් නිලධාරීන්ගේ ජීවිත ත්රස්ත ග්රහණයේ පවතිනවා. මේ ත්රස්තයින්ගේ අරමුණ වන්නේ කොරියාවේ සිටින ඇමරිකානු හමුදාවන් ඉවත් කිරීමයි. මේ අතර “සර්බ්රස්” නම් වූ රහසිගත න්යෂ්ටික මිසයිල පද්ධතියක් තම ග්රහණයට ගැනීමට මේ ත්රස්තවාදී නායකයා තැත් කරනවා. මේ සඳහා ඔහුට රහස් කේත 3ක් අවශ්යයි. මෙම කේත 3 ඇතුල් කර “ස්ර්බ්රස්” ක්රියාත්මක වූවොත් ඇමරිකාව විශාල අනතුරකට පත් වනවා… මේ අතර ජනාධිපතිගේ බිරිඳ බේරාගැනීම නොහැකිවීම නිසා කණස්සල්ලෙන් සිටින මයික් හට එම පසුතැවීමෙන් මිදීමට මගක් පෑදී තිබෙනවා. මයික්ගේ සූදානම ධවල මන්දිරය සහ ජනාධිපතිතුමාව බේරා ගැනීමටයි. අවාසනාවට මොහුට මෙය කිරීමට සිදුවන්නෙ තනිවයි..
මෙම චිත්රපටය පාවාදීම්, පසුතැවීම්, එඩිතර බව, ජාත්යාලය, කුහකත්වය, කුරිරු බව, ම්ලේච්ඡත්වය.. යන මේ සියල්ල කැටි වූ අපූරු සිනමා සිතුවමකි. අවසානයේ ඇමරිකාවේ ඉරණම තීරණය වන්නේ කෙසේද යනවග දැනගැනීම මෙම චිත්රපටය නොවරදවාම නරඹන්න.
Antoine Fuquaගේ අධ්යක්ෂණයක් වන මෙම චිත්රපටයට Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman සහ Aaron Eckhart යන සුපිරි රංගන ශිල්පීන්ගේ දායකත්වය හිමි වී තිබෙනවා.
